He, perhaps more clearly than anyone else of his time, recognized the inevitability of judgment for Judah because they had broken covenant with God (Jer 11:1–14). Yet he was also filled with hopeful expectations for the future of Judah because of the covenant (Jer 31:1–14). Jeremiah envisioned the day when a new covenant would be established between God and his people (Jer 31:31–34). The prayer and vision of Dan 9 captures some of that same hopeful future
